ACI Learning’s DevOps Engineering department is responsible for the system, server, and network administration for the entire ACI Learning platform, across both cloud and on-premises infrastructure. Members of the department also work with other internal teams to improve the platform and the customer learning experience.

The DevOps Engineer role is responsible for manual and automated administration tasks, as well as improving documentation.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Identify and pilot new automation tools.
  • Create, maintain, and improve general DevOps tools & Scripts.
  • Create/Maintain internal process documentation.
  • Be familiar with the platform & products, including management tools, to provide escalation level support to the Member Services department.
  • Provide Out of Hours support for planned change requests & Major Service Outages (MSOs).

General duties and responsibilities:

  • Provide/Maintain development (DEV) & staging (STG) environments for Software Engineering (SE) & Product Tech (PT) teams.
  • Assist in initial testing & validation of software releases/deployments.
  • Work with SE & PT teams on platform development & deployment.
  • Work with Platform Solutions Architect to deploy Proof of Concepts (POCs).
  • Create/Update change controls to record and audit work requests.
  • Deployment of OS and Firmware patches as scheduled.
  • Deployment of Product & Platform changes across the estate.
  • Deployment of Network Changes, coordinating with Network Architect.
  • Assist with Hardware deployments, coordinating with System Architect.
  • Monitor platform health alarms and application logs.
  • Identification and investigation of MSOs impacting the platform.
  • Coordinate between teams to resolve MSOs & provide a Root Cause Analysis.
  • Identification & investigation of incidents impacting internal teams
